i do realize it's been over 2 months since i've updated my blog. i think that's the longest i've gone in 6 years...! :(
lady in white, on the other hand, i've posted on almost daily...probably because each post is short and (generally) painless. posting here is always quite an undertaking.

things have been kind of crazy...i don't know why the compulsion to write a little bit here came upon me at this particular moment, as i should be working (i'm at cartoon network at present...for another 2 weeks).
i guess i just couldn't stand it any longer.
i hope to put up some pictures and things at some point. ardamar has not been abandoned...just sadly neglected.
any particular news or photos you're hoping to see? let me know. :)

five years

just remarking that as of today i've been keeping this blog for 5 years!
i'm also starting a NEW BLOG (gasp) to keep as well as this one.

i've been following a few other weblogs that, as a rule, keep posts short and concise, no more than one or two sentences at a time. and i really enjoy them. so i'm going to start one of my own, as i can't really do it on this one.

On thursday of last week i had the wonderful privilege of visiting Elizabeth, the author of this stellar blog. i'm hopefully going to do some portraits of her children for her...all 5 of them...which i am so excited about! but spending time chatting with her and playing with her twins was definitely the best part.

The Lord has done some very interesting things in my life through this blog since i created it years ago. this was hands down the most lovely and rewarding experience so far. i'm so thankful :)

in other news...things are just plain craziness. what are you doing God? i have no idea. the pain and beauty of relationships, trying to find work, having no money, the fact that i'll be 26 on wednesday...just beyond my capacity to handle. completely.
good thing i'm not in charge of all this stuff going on...both in my own personal life and for those around me. the last week was so strange...satisfying and good in a lot of ways; in others just baffling. but that doesn't matter. things are working out, and that's all i've asked for.
i'm being taken care of.
Sarah, Alec and i visited Pip's church today and it blessed me greatly. so much more than i expected.

in fact, i think that can be the theme of this last week: "More Than I Expected" whether something was bitter or sweet...it was an abundance.
hm.
lots to think about. i'm tired.

i can't wait to start drawing!

new blog

hey. i started a new blog just for my artwork...

colleen police art works

right now i'm just posting a bunch of old stuff, and will be building up to my newer pieces.

speaking of which, i have a new drawing...i did this while i was watching Caid on monday...

drawing a 2 and-a-half year old is not an easy thing to do. so i tried to do most of it while he was eating. there are some areas i need to refine, darken the hair...it's not a perfect likeness yet...

you can see Caid's little contribution in the lower left hand corner...

it's a lot less horribly hot, i'm going to the Norton Simon with some friends today, then they're coming for dinner. so those are all good things :)

Tuesday (the 27th) was the 4-year anniversary of this weblog.
it's weird to think of how much has happened since i started this.
pretty crazy (2004)...and wonderful (2005)...and amazing (2006) too.
